Alec Baldwin Interviews David Simon

Alec Baldwin Interviews David Simon

I absolutely think that Alec Baldwin is one of the best interviewers on any podcast. Just a wonderful combination of thoughtful and listening.

In this podcast, he chats with David Simon -- former crime reporter for The Baltimore Sun, but most known for his brilliance in writing The Wire. I may not be familiar with an exceptionally deep well of television shows, but that one has to be my all time favorite.

They spend time talking about the writing process, lessons learned, and how to truly tell a story. In an age I firmly believe to be marred by award-seeking "journalists" who place themselves at the center of each story (with an approval rating almost on-par with President Trump) and who appear to be driven by a profound sense of ego and a profound lack of authenticity -- is standing in a blizzard really news? Are Twitter followers really a measure of success? -- Simon's voice is both raw and refreshing. His favorite character to write? "Baltimore," he says.
