LBJ's War

LBJ's War

OkokokOK. THIS was so very very excellent.

They're short episodes (20 minutes), extrEMELY informative, well-supplemented by interviews, and there's a great amount of raw footage by some of the most relevant decision-makers of the time (I mean: JFK, RFK, LBJ, Rusk, Bundy, McNamara...). Is it New York City pretentious of me to admit that my only wish about this series is that the interviews were loud enough for me to hear when trains roll in and out of the subway? Yep, sure is.

ANYWAY. If you're looking for a dose of what was happening in America throughout the 60s -- transitioning from the post-war Eisenhower baby boomers of the 50s to JFK's "Best and the Brightest" early 60s to the War on Poverty/Vietnam/Civil Rights mid-to-late 60s belonging to LBJ (and ultimately, Nixon) -- look no further.
